Romer Labs' AgraStrip Pro Ochratoxin A WATEX Test Kit for Wheat Receives USDA-FGIS Approval
Romer Labs has received approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Federal Grain Inspection Service (USDA’s FGIS) for its AgraStrip® Pro Ochratoxin A WATEX® test kit, which facilitates the quantitative determination of ochratoxin A in wheat, as evidenced by its certification (FGIS 2024-184).
The AgraStrip Pro Ochratoxin A WATEX test kit was tested together with the AgraVision™ Pro reader for a variety of wheat samples, including whole grain wheat flour, wheat middlings, wheat red dog, wheat flour 2nd clear, and wheat screenings. The test system showed over 95 percent accuracy on ground samples during 21 tests.
The AgraStrip Pro WATEX test system provides for the rapid and simple on-site quantification of mycotoxins in a variety of commodities. Paired with the AgraVision Pro reader, the system allows for the independent and simultaneous testing of up to four samples in an intuitive, hands-free procedure. Ochratoxin A is just one of six analytes currently covered by the AgraStrip Pro WATEX system; solutions for total aflatoxin, deoxynivalenol, zearalenone, total fumonisin, and T-2/HT-2 are also available.
